I received this novel from the LibraryThing Early Reviewers Program. John B. Olson is not one of the authors on my radar screen. And of course I had never heard of B & H Publishing Group. It turns out they are a “Christian” publishing house which also sells church supplies. So you can order communion wafers along with Bibles and other Christian themed books!
So what does any of this has to do with Powers? Nothing. But I don’t have too much to say about this book, except that it is a frantic confusing mess. It seems that there are genuine Gypsies living in the swamps of Louisiana. And the “Badness” is always out to destroy them. Fortunately the Gypsies (or the “Standing” as they refer to themselves) have developed certain powers over their enemies, the most important being prayer. And of course the most treasured possession of these Gypsies is the Holy Bible. And the “Badness” is in cahoots with the FBI.
I won’t even describe the plot of this awful novel. In the future I will make more careful selections from the LibraryThing Early Reviewers program.
